Over and over again the phrase about Mary from scripture strikes me:
“And she treasured up all these things, and kept them in her heart.”\
(Luke 2:19, NIV)
This truly is heart-centered hospitality.
I want to be a woman who makes room in my heart for the things that matter… for the things that last for eternity. It’s why I write – I want to encourage others to the same. And somehow, when I write for others, I’m inspired to be more of that woman I’m called to be – even through all the failings, through the temptations to crowd my life and home in such a way that there isn’t room any more for the essentials.
This year, let’s regroup and determine to create space for Love to grow. Let’s be even more about breathing room and beauty in simplicity, and less about temporary “pretty things.” Whew – I’ve said it out loud… and there’s a fresh freedom in that. Want to create welcome in our hearts and our homes together?
Merry, merry Christmas! I’m looking forward to walking out this year together, creating everyday welcome for God, and for those we are called to love.
Inviting welcome,
angela
